LaRue

Phillip and Natalie LaRue have not only touched millions of people with their music, but they've also shown the world that they are genuine followers of Christ. At the ages of 19 and 16, this brother and sister team bring more than just great music to the stage; they bring the Gospel and a challenge to their generation (as well as those older and younger) to live boldy for the Lord.
This picture was taken at Spirit West Coast last summer (2000).

Here's the facts...

**Phillip is 19 years old, and Natalie is 16 years old.
**They have two younger siblings--twin sisters named Rachelle and Brianna.
**On their sophomore album, "Transparent," they have a song written for their sister, Brianna, who has cerebral palsy. (It's an absolutely beautiful song, and I definitely reccomend you all listen to it!)
**The whole LaRue family travels along with Phillip and Natalie, making it a sort of family ministry.
**They just put out there second album, "Transparent," a few weeks ago.
**LaRue toured Europe last summer (2000), stopping to sing in Holland, Germany, and France.
**Phillip and Natalie write their own songs together as a team.
**They were both homeschooled before they began their music career.
**Phillip and Natalie grew up in California, but they had to move across the country when they were "discovered" by Reunion Records. (They still consider California to be their "home" though, and they wrote a song about it for their "Transparent" album. The song is called "I can't sing," in case you want to look for it.)
**LaRue supports and is a representative of Compassion International.
**LaRue drafted a petition to be sent to the United States Secretary of Education requesting that it be mandatory for all sex education classes to teach abstinence as the most effective method in preventing pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases for unmarried teenagers.
**They need 250,000 signatures and are currently at 31,740. (If you'd like to help out with this project, here's the link to all the info involved.)

Remember, Phillip and Natalie likely receive tons of mail, and though I'm sure they will read everything you send them, they probably won't be able to respond to all the letters they receive. Still, you have the chance to send encouraging mail to a couple of singers and fellow Christians who have likely encouraged you through their music! What an opportunity! :)
