Well, here you are at the the Poetry Corner! I hope you enjoy this first issue's selection of poetry!!
THE OCEAN
The ocean once so peaceful
No longer anymore
The waves have arisen
Crashing to the shore
They pound against the surf
Squenching what is there
And they beat rapidly against the crags
Oblivion everywhere
Unknowing of the future
They seem to crash in vain
Tumultuous and dangerous
They are confusing and bring pain
Why is it that the ocean
Once so peaceful and so still
Chooses to now arise
No longer does it fill
Instead of peaceful tides
Steady and so true
These waves of emotion
Are seeking something new
What it is my soul knows not
It seems to slip away
Why is it that all within my grasp
Never seems to stay
Oh, God let this ocean tremble
No longer in such disarray
But grant that peaceful morning
Oh, please make it stay
These waves that have arisen
Are so very foreign
I know not why they've come
But they've come in torrents
Please let the morn come soon
Oh let the dawn arise
Let the peaceful sun
Lay on steady tides
Let these waves evade me
So the ocean can become again
Steady and enduring
Calm outside and in
May Your sweet breath be the only thing
That can stir this ocean
Let nothing else come between
Quench the waves a'floatin
But as the steadiness is sought again
Let me state this claim
Let Your will be done, not mine
Let all be in Your Name
This ocean is a vessel
In Your mighty hand
And grant the grace for it to stay
Calm above the sand
The ocean longs for none but this
Than for the eternal sun
To reflect upon the waters
And may Your will be done

THE BEAUTY IN BROKENESS
I've hit the bottom
And there's no way out
I can't help myself
And my spirit's in doubt
I can't turn to anyone
None would understand
Confused and weary
I run from God's hand
I'm helpless and burdened
And I'm all alone
To fight all my battles
And nightmares on my own
But I reach that point
Where I can't fight anymore
And I realize I'm losing
The battle, the war
I'm at the end of my rope
All the farther I can go
Broken before Him
I must learn to let go
I have to trust Christ
On Him my all depends
There's beauty in brokeness
New beginning, new ends...

Stars in the Heavens
Children of God
Shining bright
Like stars in the heavens
The dark we light
Sharing the truth
Examples of love
We point the way
To the Father above
Making a difference
In the darkest days
Standing out
Against the world's ways
And tho' we are small
When shining alone
That's when we shine brightest
Our commitment is shown
So we must shine true
Not hide or be ashamed
Like stars in the heavens
Bring glory to his name
