The Still Small Voice
A gentle whisper,
"Be careful what you say."
A sweet reminder,
of "I love you" everyday.
Quietly, softly,
I hear God speak.
Like little thought bombs,
everyday of the week.
Your voice, oh God,
I could easily turn off.
Your powerful words
are like raindrops, very soft.
But, I choose to listen
to the still small voice.
Unlike much of the world,
I make the right choice.
Like the coming of the sun,
after a rainly, cloudy day,
You speak life to me,
with every word You say.
By Alicia Dawn V.

It happened again
My sin blemishes the good
That Jesus died for.
I treat the sacred
Like a pile of filthy rags
Forgetting the cost.
A man lost his life
A captive has been set free
But was it for naught?
I can't control me
My flesh disregards the grace
And the sacrifice.
I turn away from
The pain of the horrid cross
To tie my shoestring
I ignore the groans
From the gasping throat of God
My thoughts are too loud.
There is no penance
For this evil wickedness
But His grace alone.

You are the Great I AM
And I am so small
Unworthy
How can You use me at all?
Yet You've chosen me out
And I can't deny
Your Will
To work through my life
You show me signs and wonders
And tell me to be bold
Empowered
To speak the words I'm told
I did not choose this honor
Nor the task it represents
But yielded still
For I know Your ways are best
