POETRY CORNER

Well, here you are at the the Poetry Corner! I hope you enjoy this issue's selection of poetry!!
I was impressed with the amount of poems that I received from readers who had their own poetry and sent their work in to be used in this second issue. Thanks, guys! I look forward to receiving more poetry from others to be used in next month's issue.
Oh yeah, please remember everyone, that these poems belong to their authors and are copyrighted, so be sure to give them credit if you print them out for anything or send them to anyone. Thanks!
Now, without further delay, here's the featured poems...

True Friends

Friends may come and freinds may go
But only true friends see and know
That their true friends will always stay
To see them through a brighter day.

A Secret Place

Sneak away to a secret place
Where I behold my Savior's face
I call
He hears
He speaks
I am changed
In His presence renewed again
To live for God and not for men

How Hot are You?

Late at night, when I could not sleep
I tossed and turned, but could not sleep!

So I thought and thought
What could I do?
Nothing was bothering me,
Nothing was on my mind!

Then all the sudden I started to sweat!
My neck was hot, and my pillow was wet!
I sat straight up, and wiped my face.

"What is wrong?" I ask.
"I cannot sleep!"
I went into the bathroom,
And turned on the light.

Took out a washcloth,
Ran it under the water
And wiped my neck.

I thought and thought,
Then I said, "I know what's wrong!"
"I know who cares!"

I went back to my room,
Knelt by my bed,
Closed my eyes, and prayed.

"Dear God.." I prayed.
"I have figured out,
Just why I sweat, just why I shout!"

"I have not prayed,
in quite sometime,
I ask you to help me
To do your will."

"To set me a fire,
To tell others of you."
Then I said, "In Your name, Amen"

Then I lay back down in my bed.
I closed my eyes,
Felt much better, and fell back asleep
And dreamt of how I could help others.

Lord, now I am on fire for you!
Now I will help you to win others,
To set them on fire, to send them to you!

This is My Plea

Dearest Father in Heaven
hear now my plea
my soul cries out
as I bow before thee

Abba, my Daddy
turn your face toward my cry
for my heart is mourning
as precious souls die

Oh, sweet Jesus
please afflict me
but spare those souls
this is my plea

Elohim, Great One
don't turn a deaf ear
my soul is burdened
the pain, it sears

El Shaddai, Almighty
I'm on my knees
my heart is bleeding
please, please, hear me

Jehovah, Provider
allow them to see;
their souls that are void
this is my plea

My God, my Comfort
be Savior to them, too
let them be of the remnant
the chosen, the few

My Shelter, my Haven
let Your will be done
but my heart will forever ask
that You show them Your Son

My Friend, my Lover
hear now as I cleave
to You for their souls
this is my plea

They didn't want me

I could have been a boy.
I could have been a girl.

My parents didn't want me.
They didn't want to care.

I would have tried to been good.
I would have tried to please them,
But they never gave me a chance.

I could have brought them honor.
I might have brought them shame,
But I guess I wasn't worth the chance.

That's okay, I for give them.
Now I'm in a better place.

A place where the sea is as rich as the deep blue sky.
A place where the streets are paved with pure gold.
A place where there is no weeping.
A place of forgiveness.
A place I hope you'll come.

Passing Through

I have an important meeting
With the Savior of all mankind
But I'm waiting here on Earth
Until it is my time

I'm preparing for this meeting
For I never know when He will call
And I want to be certain
I'm ready to give up all

I love my family and friends
My life here is so blessed
But I'm just passing through
Only stopping for a rest

While here I am training
To be a servant of the Lord
And I'm learning to trust Him
And listen to His Word

But soon I must move on
When the timing is just right
Please don't worry when I leave
Don't cry when I take flight

I'll look for you in Heaven
Where I know we'll meet again
But now I have a meeting
So goodbye, with love, until then...

This poem is written in honor of Cassie and the other Columbine students who were called "Home" on April 20th, 1999. May we always remember that we too are only passing through...
