I believe we all have something to say...a story to tell...a testimony. And I believe that each person's testimony can help someone else in some way. It's a witness to the world to know that we are human and go through things just like them but that we have a source of strength, of comfort, of hope, of peace...Christ Jesus. And they can have that too if they will only believe. It's a testimony to fellow believers that God is working in your life like He is in their lives. It's an encouragement, a support, to all who hear your testimony...and most importantly, it brings glory to God.
Well, since I didn't receive any testimonies for this issue, I've decided to just say a few things about testimonies...kinda define what a testimony is. I think alot of young people don't think they have anything to share. Maybe they think that a testimony is something you don't "get" until you're older and have been through more stuff. But that's not true. We all have something to share...something that just might help someone else.
There are two types of testimonies that we can give, and both are very important. The first kind is what I call a "main testimony". This is the kind that most people think of when they hear or see the word "testimony". It is often the story of how the person came to the Lord, and/or the person's "life story" of what God has brought them through so far. Some people have more than one "main testimony", depending on how much and what they've been through.
Then there's the other type of testimony, the kind that you share with others when God has done something kewl in your life and you just have to tell someone about it! Or when you can just really tell that God has His hand on your life...or when you can hear His voice telling you to do something. These are much more common, for they happen all the time. When we share these types of testimonies, we thank God for taking care of us, and we glorify His name.
Well, I guess that's all I have to say about testimonies... Please, if you have something that you want to share, send it to me for next month's issue. It doesn't have to be something big or a long story...just something "small" that God has done for you. Something that you want to tell the world!
