Have you ever heard the song, “We Need Jesus” by Petra? Perhaps you have even sung along with it…
Our world needs Jesus more than ever. There are so many things that are happening in our world today that prove this statement is true. There are so many shootings and other acts of violence all over our world, whether in a school, in a church, an office building, or a home. Violence is everywhere. Wars between nations break out all over the globe. People kill innocent babies that are still in their mother’s womb, and they call it a choice. People turn to drugs and alcohol, hoping to fill the void in their lives. Some turn to gangs, wanting to fit in. Many force themselves to fit the image that society, media, and television show as perfect.
When I look at all of these things and the other forms of corruption that fill our world, I see a cry for help. I see people searching for the answer. Jesus IS the answer! These people live their lives, trying to find the answer, the emptiness that only Jesus can fill.
When WILL the world see that we need Jesus??
Here is something to think about. What if one Christian got down on his/her knees and really started praying hard? What if this person started worshipping God, in Spirit and in Truth, whole-heartedly, and not just at church? What if he/she took every chance to tell others of the Savior? What if this person got so on fire for God that everyone around him/her couldn’t help but notice a change? What if the fire spread to another person, maybe a few more, then maybe a whole church?
I can tell you what would happen! Revival would break out like wildfire. You would see millions finally find the answer that they had been searching for. Your whole country could be saved, even our whole world!
Now that you see the possibilities, let me ask you just one more question. Why shouldn’t that one person be you?? I have done a lot of thinking on this, and I know that I will be doing things differently from now on. I want to make the difference, to start changing our world, one step at a time. My challenge to you would be to really think about this on your own. If you really want to see our entire world come back to God, remember, it only takes one person to start a revival.
