Shiv Kumar Batalvi has been compared with the greatest poets in all the world such as John Keats.  He was a Hindu but he was brought up in Punjab so, most of his writings are in Punjabi.  He is one of the most famous Punjabi writers in the world and people like Jagjit & Chitra Singh, Asa Singh Mastana, and Ghulam Ali have all sung his songs.  Shiv with a soft sobing voice recited his poetry and it echoed so loudly that it reached all corners of the world.  Shiv predicted his death at a young age.  His prediction came true.  Shiv died at the age of 35.
