Quilt Info: The quilt was machine and hand quilted. The quilt blocks are houses and other symbols
of home, created by members of the guild for our year 2000 Block Exchange
Project. The composition is in celebration
of the Federal “Fair Housing Act” of 1968.
This act prohibits discrimination in housing because of Race or
Color, National origin, Religion, Familial status, or Handicap. “Home Sweet Home” will be the theme of our Second Annual
Quilt Exhibit, February 224 and 25, 2001, Malcolm X Library, 5148 Market
Street. The quilt drawing will be
held February 25. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of tickets will
be used to support ‘Friends of the Library’ and community youth programs.
