Books & Art

Books

I have a passion for books. You might even say that I have a problem. I deny that! Actually, it's true. I have a slight addiction to books. I have stacks upon stacks of books: already read, to be read, to be read again, and to be read thrice.

I have a tendency to lean towards sci-fi and fantasy (especially Urban Fantasy/Mythological Fiction). Although, I am not averse to the mysteries, horror, and other genre.

My favorite author is Charles de Lint. For more CdL stuff, you might want to check out Mr. Truepenny's Book Emporium and Art Gallery or The Tamson House Library. There's also the CdL email list (The Tamson House) that you might want to participate. It's run by the Iron-Fisted Dictator, Mr. Le Mon, and it's a great collection of humor, eclectic personalities, and diverse conversation.

I've just recently discovered an author by the name of Terry Pratchett. Actually, he's been around for a while, however, I hadn't read any of his books until now. He's hilariously funny, and there are plenty of sites out there that do him more justice than I can at this point.

Art

My penchant for art follows my love of books. Artists like Brian Froud and Charles Vess to name a few. Check out Endicott Studio run by Terri Windling. There are samples of Brian Froud's work, as well as Charles Vess AND Terri Windling herself. Of course, there are other artists, such as Maxfield Parrish and Thomas Canty. I also have a penchant towards classical artists, such as Leonardo de Vinci, who are too numerous to name.
