Birthplace: Northwest Indiana.
Family: Married, with one daughter, two grandchildren, two labrador mixed breeds named Missy and,Mandy one parakeet, one rather "cocky" cockatiel named Ernie, and a 1990 Hunter Sailboat. I come from a family of four. I have two younger sisters and one younger brother. My parents are both deceased
Education: I have a Bachelor's Degree in Education English/journalism Indiana University. Currently I am working on my Master's Degree in English at Purdue University.
Occupation: I work as a freelance writer, promotional specialist, and as a licensed educator. I offer various teaching programs in creative writing, news writing, poetry, as well as classes on computers and the Internet. Presently I am teaching Freshman Composition classes at Purdue.
Other Accomplishments: I founded a literary group calledWrite-On Hoosiers, Inc.,which was a group designed for both beginning and advanced writers. It provides a place for writers to meet other writers of different genres, and provides an audience to critique and encourage each other. We focus on motivating northwest Indiana and southern Illinois children and young adults through poetry contests and publication.
Personal Heros: Albert Einstein, for his mental genius as well as childlike “what if...” curiousity, and Walt Disney, because he created a world from his imagination and worked hard to see it come to life.
Hobbies: Past and present are: Snow skiing, photography, traveling, needle craft, macramé, Middle Eastern dancing, yoga, transendental meditation, hypnosis, reading, astronomy, astrology, and most recently is sailing. I also love storms, but through experience have found they are best viewed from the harbor.
My most vivid childhood memory: Was when the snow-frocked Christmas tree fell on Uncle Henry, and he had tinsel dangling from his ear. Of course the counterpart of that was when I fell in the Christmas tree (no snow) as a child and had red spots on my face all day.
