4/10/99 wedding bells & birthday cake Today was Yogi and Carla's Wedding. A new jacket, pants and shirt for me (I was an Usher), and the rest of my family was decked out in new duds too. I have to admit we looked pretty damn good! Yogi and Carla looked good too. They looked so adult. Carla wore a fantastic wedding dress, and Yog was in a really sharp looking dark suit, they resembled the little figurines on the top of a wedding cake. As a family, we couln't be happier for Yogi and Carla. They are Calvin and Katie's Godparents, and simply the nicest people I know, and are made for eachother. I know that some people are protective of thier freinds; not wanting anything to change, and see a new wife as a threat to the status quo, but I really believe that Carla makes Yogi a better person. She is a person I would want to be friends with even if she wasn't Yogi's wife. All my best to them. Wanda, Don's wife was at the wedding with thier daughter Dana. It has been over two years since I last saw any of them. Don and I have known eachother since the fifth grade...twenty-three years. It was nice spending some time with them. too much time had elapsed since the last visit. Today also marks my thirty-third birthday. Oh man, thirty-three! One-third of the way to a century. I really wish I could say I accomplished more in those decades, and considering I have only thirty-two years until I retire, maybe this is the start to the time that Ken McCarthy really shines. Calvin got me a game for the computer, actually he got me a game that he wanted for himself! That's usin' the old noodle! Monica got me a shirt. I also got alot of apologies, because the gifts were a little thin this year. Love is really the best gift, so the best gift I recieved this year was Katie singing a "Happy Birthday" solo to me.
