"Little things affect little minds." -- Benjamin Disraeli
12/14/99 Holidays
It's begining to look alot like Christmas.... thanks to a last minute mad-dash.

I started the last entry; over a week ago, by bemoaning that Monica had been sick for the entire week. I can now report that she has been sick for over two weeks straight, making life difficult, and making the holidays impossible.

Christmas is naturally the busiest time of the year; shopping, decorating, trees, wrapping and sending. Having an extra kid has made this holiday extra busy and difficult. Having that extra kid be Shelby... with her anger problems, has made it a zoo. Fights and "I hate you's" have filled the house more than Carols.

Tonight is Calvin's last YMCA basketball game for the season. WHEW! one more thing to cross off of my jam-packed holiday itinerary. Tommorrow night is Calvin's class at church...Thursday is Calvin's class party that requires sushi preparation... Friday is a dinner event at work, and my dad is supposed to come and visit this weekend,...of course all of next week is Christmas vacation for the kids.. So, when do I shop? and decorate? wrap ands end? Especially when there is laundry, dishes and other cleaning to do? The answer is obvious to me... I'll have to tell my dad that he can't come and visit. I'll have to tell the kids that grandpa ain't coming over because there is no way I can fit "family" into an already over-booked holiday.

I'll have a go at decorating the tree after Calvin's game tonight...I'll fit it in right between' hauling the garbage to the curb, and feeding the dog. I'll shop for presents on my lunch break tomorrow. I'll wrap at 11:30 pm Christmas Eve.
One way or another we will pull off another Christmas.

humbug.
