12/18/99 In briefI took all of Thursday off... the whole day to get things straightened out and back on track. Early Thursday; after the kids were put onto the school bus, Monica and I went into the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) to see what sort of aid we can get while raising my niece Shelby. It turns out that DSHS will give us about $350 per month, which will come close to offsetting the real costs of having her live here. Actuall the Money couldn't come at a better time; with Christmas approaching. Monica has gone directly from her two week illness straight into a strained back. Monica said "I can't believe this happened to me."
Thursday night was a time for X-mas tree set-up and house cleaning. You see, my dad wasx still coming to town. I was littterally up all night cleaning. Yesterday was another Christmas party for work. It was fun and my boss gave me a Nike Sport watch as a gift. I'm not sure if it was the seafood or the beer (I rarely drink) But I ended up with a horrible headache once I got home. So the house wasn't exactly spotless by the time my Dad and Kim and Matt arrived. But thats okay... it's just nice having them here.
