10/01/99 Day's end, week's end.
I exhale an enormous sigh of relief.
Not that anything fantastic is happening. I haven't recieved unexpected wealth, haven't been endowed with super-powers, I haven't been elected "dictator for life" of my own South Pacific Island. In fact, all of my problems are still there...lurking. Waiting for me to wander into striking range. A pit of vipers.
Money is the root of all evil.
No, actually poverty is the root of my evils. I'm not as greedy as I probably sound. It's just a simple fact that money is where arguements start. The stresses and frustrations of a lack of capital wear on me. Yhis week I actually bounced a couple o' checks. Ouch!
Health is the root of all illness.
Okay, that doesn't make sense. I'm not a poet... sue me. Monica has been consistantly sick again. I seriously can't remember the last time she felt good, and happy for more than 2-days in a row. Migraines, colds, tooth aches, flu... a general icky-bummmed-out feeling.
Car problems persist.
My Festiva is in lousy shape. Idon't know what to do about it.
My life is peppered with stuff that sounds like bad fiction writing.
My father in-law Ted has some friends, Harold and Suzy. To call them "trashy" would be an insult to all the respectably trashy people you find littering the urban streets. Harold does car repair for Ted, all the time. It's almost like Ted has sponsored this "creepy couple" For the most part, you would find Harold cleaning car parts with gasoline and a wire brush... a lit cigarette hanging out of his mouth. Suzy in the meantime would be chain-smoking and talking to the little kids in the neighborhood (she is a liscenced day care worker, she says). Well the Other day Suzy was arrested, and is waiting to be extriditted to some southern state... offense unknown.
Harold it turns out , is a chronic alcoholic and has half full bottles of booze hidden about the cul de sac...right where my kids play.
I guess this entry kinda got off track... but heck, it's friday.
I'm off to my weekend in the twilight zone..
