"It's no good saying one thing and thinking another." -- Catherine Cookson
9/10/99 My aching head.

A long four day week.

It always seems to work out that a shortened work week just feels longer than most. My workload at Nike continues to be hectic, I'm working simultaneously on three designs, with others stacking-up. A log-jam of work. "Hero cases for the Mia Hamm Building. Premier league soccer (a foosball theme!). Nike-F.I.T. display cases, all fairly close to completion, but need that last little push to get them installed. I devloped a nagging stress headache.

On the home front I am plagued by car problems. The Festiva has been in the intensive care unit this week. The little 1.3 liter engine burns oil at an alarming rate (199,000 miles have reduced the rings to near non-existence). The engine started to run rough which is usually a sign that my spark plugs are to fouled with oil to provide a spark that can sustain combustion. So, I changed the plugs in record time, and also changed a damaged sparkplug wire, problem is the car runs worse now. I deffinately have a dead cylinder.

I drove the Taurus station wagon to work this week, as my headache entered day two. I called my doctor and was prescribed some pain pills.

Monica had a dentist appointment to have a damaged tooth removed today, so she needed the car or a ride to her appointment. Through tough negotiations with my in-laws, I was able to secure a ride to and from the dentist for her. When I told Monica about the details of the plan, she through a "hissy-fit" crying and yelling that different arrangements needed to be made. Then she took some of my headache pills.
Back to the negotiating table with a screaming headache.
This time I was able to negtiate a much more complex deal that included nearly everybody in the family going well out of thier way to implement. My head was throbbing without mercy.

In the end Monica had the offending tooth removed and was perscribed more pain medication. hmph. My head alternates from feeling fine and feeling like a buick is parked on it.

My head is a no parking zone.
