My Friend

My Friend

Although we're very far apart
I thought that I should say
the memories that we have made
I think of every day.

I have new friends that make me laugh
and share in things I do,
but keep in mind no one I've met
could take the place of you.

We sometimes had our differences
and argued once or twice,
but mostly we were more inclined
to relay our advice.

I miss the way we'd find a flaw
in someone we both know
and talk about it all the time
whenever things got slow.

We annoyed our "pretty" friend
portraying Maureen's "moos,"
and proved that we were two tough chicks
by getting our tattoos.

The things we did weren't always safe,
but we were pretty clever.
We made the most of every night.
Lawn Bandits are forever!
