My Happiness

My Happiness

I don't want to hurt you,
but it's very hard to say
the feelings that I have for you
are fading every day.

The things we have in common
are really very few.
It seems you only care for me
because I cared for you.

I think we rushed to quickly.
We didn't take the time
to get to know each others' flaws
before we made the climb.

Maybe I deceived you
by letting you believe
that we should stay together
when I felt that I should leave.

I don't think we can change this.
I guess that's how life goes.
Twists and turns are thrown our way
to keep us on our toes.

Our friendship means the world to me.
That never has to change.
It make take times to heal the wounds,
and may feel very strange.

Our romance may be over,
but I hope that you can see.
My happiness depends on this.
It's how it has to be.
