Not A Day Goes By

Not A Day Goes By

Not a day goes by
without the thought of you.
A cloud of pain and salty tears
that now seems more than true.

I shutter at the thought
or losing love again.
No matter how I play my cards
I never seem to win.

I give my heart away
too easily it seems.
Overwhelmed by expectations
that end up only dreams.

I hunger for a man
who sees into my soul.
The quest is everlasting,
a truely unplayable role.

I lay me down just one last time.
I won't be hurt again.
In this life it's do or die
and this is now the end.
