My Only Requests
My Only Requests
Color me crazy,
Color me clear,
so I can decide how I want to be seen.
Paint me an outline,
Paint me a frame,
and let me decide all the stuff inbetween.
Let me imagine,
Let me believe,
in all of the things that I think I can be.
Give me a passion,
Give me a choice,
to see all that's done and to do all I see.
Allow me to blossom,
Allow me to grow,
into someone who knows where the answers are found.
Show me the courage,
Show me the way,
not to bury my feelings away in the ground.
Lead me from sorrow,
Lead me from pain,
and protect me from dangers that come in the night.
Hide me from anquish,
Hide me from fear,
give me wings of a bird so that I may take flight.
Set me a base line,
Set me a law,
to guide me along down a straight, narrow way.
Send me a signal,
Send me a sign,
that will give me true happiness each living day.
