Punished

Punished

I feel as though my life has been
a chapter in a book.
The consequences I face now
are based on risks I took.

Not all the choices I have made
deserve this twisted fate.
No matter how I change my life,
I know that it's too late.

The forces that control this world
have punished me with pain.
Chaos rules and forces me
to live my life in vane.

Despite my never ending cries,
still no one ever hears.
The times when joy should fill my heart
are washed away by tears.

The laws that lead the way in life
are known by very few.
The stream of truth has passed me by,
and turned my green eyes blue.

I'll continue down my path,
not straying on my way.
I've been punished for the truth
of living for today.
