Besides poetry, my other source of joy is technical theatre. The images presented here are of sets that I designed/constructed.
storyline: A city-breed hospice volunteer is assigned a crusty, elderly mountain woman who is dying of cancer. The story is the relationship they develop & the bonds they come to share.
Built on a thrust stage, the set is the interior of a log cabin, complete with functional wood stove & water pump.
storyline: A stage magician, married to a younger woman, wants to be rid of her...& she of him; & retain all the accumulated joint wealth. Each plots the the others murder.
The set is a modified blackbox, walls draped in black, with furniture & prop items defining the areas.
storyline: A musical presentation of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
The set is a recreation of Carpenter's Hall, Philadelphia
storyline: The ladies group presents their annual fund raiser, with what appears to be an unrehearsed script.
The set is an adaptation of the original proscenium set to a thrust stage.
