About Lawrence Finck

About the site...
This site once dealt with more than one person who goes by the name "Finck." Now there is just me, Lawrence Finck, the writer. If anyone is still coming here from when I started this page, they will notice that I have changed probably about as much as the page has. I started "The finckhole" in 1996 or 1997. Since then, with the advent of the Twilight Writers, it became "This Twilight Garden." Now it is back to "The Finckhole," but in a much different way.

In a way, I have come back to my original vision and finally have the skills to make it come to life, though still not as well as I would like... As I continue to work on the site, it becomes more like my original vision - at least, as much as I currently remember it.

About myself...
The name "Lawrence Finck" is simply a nickname from an era that feels like eons ago. Though the story of my nickname holds little meaning for me now, the name has stuck as my penname nonetheless. In many ways, it feels like a favorite outfit: I put the name on and feel in many ways like I can express a certain part of myself much more than I normally can. The separation of the internet has always brought out this side in me anyway, so it seemed like a natural fit to tie my dark side, my writing, and my website.

I've been told recently that I have many characteristics that are uncharacteristic for me - my love of American football for example. I like to think of myself as three-dimensional, but you won't find most of those dimensions here. This is simply a place for my dark side.
