A LESSER BURDEN

A Lesser Burdon.Midi

 His flustered denials seemed

out of proportion in regards to the question.

His darkest secrets,

about to be snatched out of the darkness,

and thrown into the light;

like black glitter against the sun.

His character had the appearance of stone,

but the thin substance of glass.

He dangled his innocence in front of her.

She desperately wanted it to be the truth,

for there was no hiding from the fact,

that she would miss him,

the man he could have been.

She had stripped the disguises from him.

She looked at him as he actually was,

a master of manipulation,

who could only gratify himself.

She turned and walked slowly away,

for leaving was a lesser burden, than staying.
