THE MOMENT

If I could choose a moment to be erased,

just have it vanish without a trace,

I would choose the moment before

the bridge joining our lives crumbled.

I would take back that mere second of time

just before I lost you in a betrayal of trust.

now seperating our souls,

my heart would outstretch over the void,

and lead you back to me.

Only your forgiveness

can pull me from this unremitting regret,

where I have to endure

this travesty which is me.
