The Orange Ribbon - July 98
 |
Here comes the end of the day and its eve...
Or more so, the end of July,
And this was a Protest NOT a War!
In which we all were proud to take part,
But a protest is not forever,
Because a protest is a cry, ...is a scream,
And how long could you keep screaming?
So friends, lets keep it in proportions,
It was not a fight for human rights,
nor for freedom or justice,
Just against a stain of publicity stunt
That is dancing on the corner of our page :)
And truly, I cross my heart, I don't know
Who wins at the end of the day, us or them,
But as a matter of fact no one wins,
Since this was a protest, not a battle field,
So it is the end of July,
And in a month or two the golden leaves will fall,
And if winter comes, can spring be far behind?
Well, friends from all over the cities of Geo, in this optimistic quote I would like to say: "farewell".
We made the protest, we had our cry, we draw the attention, and from now on it is a business formula.
But I still have one thing to say, I cann't leave without applaud to Geocities
They had given us all the freedom of speach and protest, and they even instructed CL's not to interfere with protest sites!
So in the avenue of rights and freedom they came tops! They made a business move, not a social one! It is their move, all the way.
And like all businesses it would be weighted by profit and loss. Would this watermark increase their income, it will stay and grow.
Will it cause a loss, it will vanish as it has never existed.
To end, if you had wore the orange ribbon on your page, please feel free to grab a logo of our Orange Ribbon Memorandum to put it in your award gallery :)
Peace and Happiness on you, Dear Friends...
