T.L.I.I.H. ALL TIME WORLD RANKINGS
as of
The purpose of these rankings is not to determine which country is currently the best in international play, but rather to put each country in an historical perspective by qualifying their overall success in top level competition.
The rankings are based on a simplified, yet effective point system devised by TLIIH using the results of all the top level competitions ever held (Canada/World Cups, Olympic Games from 1998, and the 1972 Summit Series).
Points are awarded based on the final standings of each team in each competition and the number of teams competing. For example: the Czech Republic finished first in the 1998 Olympics and 14 teams competed, therefore the Czech Republic gets 14 points. Canada finished 4th in that tournament so they get 11 points.
