I'll miss your call
(Bon Voyage Germie Dear!!!)

With stoic determination,
And a poker face to match,
I tell everyone who asks--
I won't miss you at all,
While inside I'm in free fall;
For I'll miss your daily call.

I deny every emotion to the end,
Every time I'm taken to task;
My face an expressionless mask,
But feelings flow when alone,
Blood pumps in a heart of stone,
Sadness biting to the bone.

These last days on the phone-
I put on my happiest tones,
While my heart lets out a groan
"How did we become this close?";
Is a question to me I often pose,
All I know is I'll miss my Germie dose!

"Emotion is for lesser men"
That's what I've always said,
Each time I lose a friend,
I say it's just fate and all,
To help the deluge forstall;
Though I'll miss your cheery call.
