I wish that loving you the way I do
were all it took to keep things
right between us.

loving you comes so easy for me
But it takes a lot of effort
to turn good feelings
into a relationship that works
It isn't always easy
to know what you are feeling
to know what to say

to know what not to say
It isn't always easy
to know when you need me to listen

to recognize the times
when nothing needs to be said
I want to be at your side always
but what do I do
when it seems

what you want most
is to be alone
There is so much that I want to do
but I don't know if I should
and this leaves me feeling
confused and alone
wishing you would understand

that you know
that I love you
and for you to tell me
that is enough.
