subtext-not just for lesbians

First of all let me say that I'm a man, which hopefully you all know means I'm not a lesbian. However, I have to say that having the horomones of a young man, the idea of seeing two gorgeous women like Lucy and ROC together definately does something for me.

I've read many posts by lesbians and other fans of subtext praising the writers for putting it in the show and I've also read just as many posts by people who hate the subtext cursing the writers. Personally, I don't see what all the fuss is about. They have never clearly defined Xena and Gab's relationship and I doubt they ever will, which I think is good. The only thing we, the fans, definately know is that they truly love each other. It may be a sisterly love or they may be lovers, that's for us to decide; and despite what many people seem to think there is no wrong answer.

There's a saying that "you can't please everyone," and the writers know this, so with the ambiguity of the subtext they give us a relationship that we can all enjoy without alienating one group or the other. So for those of you who hate the idea of Xena and Gab being lovers, lighten up and enjoy the strongest friendship the world has ever seen. As for the rest of you, let your fantasies run wild; I know mine will.
