What's with this place

I know that many of you may get upset with me for this post, but honestly I don't care. I thought when I started coming here that this was a place for fans of Xena. But over the last couple of months at least 85% of the posts were people complaining about how they can't stand what their watching. Folks, if the show is so bad pick up the remote and turn the channel. I've read posts where poeple are bashing the writers because they can't come up with new original scripts, but, correct me if I'm wrong, isn't this whole rift original. People want to see new stories but they want Xena and Gabrielle to stay exactly the same. We'll I ve got news for you; you can't have your cake and eat it to.

Let's face it this show has millions of fans throughout the world. And different people like different things. Some people like the comedies while some like the darker episodes. Some people love the subtext, some people hate it. Some people like Xena better, some like Gabrielle. Do you get the picture. The point of all of this is that there is no way TPTB can please all of us, and it would be stupid of them to try and they know this. So they do the only thing they can do, they give something for all of us. Some shows are very lighthearted, and some are dramatic. They put just enough subtext in the show to please the subtext lovers without crossing the line and alienating those who hate the subtext. Different fans have different tastes and I commend them on trying to give something for everyone.

I think you all need to remember that this is just a TV show, nothing more. I get the feeling that some of you take the show entirely to seriously. It's okay to be a huge fan, but when I read posts where people sound like they're having emotional problems because of the rift that's going to far. Remember this is a show and Xena and Gabrielle are the stars, and as long as Xena is on the air they are always going to be best friends. It makes me laugh when I read posts(and there have been many) where people are saying X and G will never be able to get past this rift. For those of you that think that, what do you think is going to happen. Do you think X and G are going to be enemies for the next two and half years, or do you think they will travel around and not talk to one another; I mean come on, use some common sense.
I'll admit I have no idea how the rift will work out, but for me that's the fun of it. I know X and G will work things out and it will have a happy ending(Quote from Rob Tapert),but as for how they do it, we'll just have to wait and see.

I personally think TPTB know exactly what they are doing, and I think they are playing with us. They know that the relationship between X and G is the heart of the show and they knew the kind of reaction they were going to get from the rift. I know many people hate this rift, but I ask you one question, have their ever been any episodes that were more eagerly anticipated than "MI" and "BS". I dare to say that even the people who hate this rift can't wait to see these two episodes; to see how things turn out. I think the producers have been playing with us this whole season, putting us on a roller coaster ride, and I think they have done it masterfully.
We have to remember that this is their show. I would be selfish and foolish for me or you or anyone to expect every episode to be exactly what you want; it could never happen. For example, I loved "The Quill..." but I know that many of you hated it. I remember a song that said "you can't please everyone so you gotta please yourself." I think that's the only way TPTB can go about making the show. They can't please all of us, so they make the shows they enjoy and they like, and if we like it great, but if we don't well to bad. I think they want to make a show that appeals to all audiences and they want to push the envelope and do things that have never been done in a television show before. They simply want to make a show that when it's over they can look back and be proud of what they've done.

Remember folks, the show is not real life. The purpose of the show is entertainment, and to be an escape from real life for an hour. Don't take everthing so seriously. Just watch and enjoy the show; I know your not going to like them all, but hey that's life. For those of you who are sick of the show, watch something else.
