I just finished watching the best (and sadist) ep of the season.
It was wonderful to see Xena as a real human being and not the
stoic warrior she's come to be. If they are doing this to deconstruct
the character of Xena, they are accomplishing the task in top form.

I don't believe, however, Gabby's statement that everything is her
fault. If they had kept the child, Hope could have turned out differently.
If Xena had been more attentive to Gabby in Brittania she never would have had
the child to begin with. Of course that would make the duo a trio and that
wouldn't do. Same reason for Solan getting knocked off.

I can't wait for Bitter Suite next week. I've read posts where people have
insisted that these characters can't reconcile after this incident.
I argue the point that they began their reconcilation in MI. Gabby and Xena began
to put their cards on the table as to how they feel about each other and that's
the first step in resolving any problem.

I'm convinced the girls will survive and be stronger than ever. I'm looking
forward to the rest of the season now.
