I just don't understand

Ok I've tried and tried but I can't understand. Maybe one of you can explain it for me.
Why are so many veterans "fed up" with the show? Why have they "lost their interst" in the show?
Ok so Gabrielle is not the sweeet little girl from Potedia any more... she grew up and realized there was more to the world and sometimes that means making wrong choices.
Yes I'll admit I'm not crazy about this new Gabby but I'm willing to give the writers a chance. Why aren't they?
Are you the exact same person you were 3 years ago? Do you see things exactly like you did then?
Why do Xena and Gabby have to remain staggnant?
I too am disappointed with the rift. NOT because there is one but because the writers are doing a break em up patch it up next ep or even in the same ep.
All friendships go through change. You have arguments, get mad at each other, ect. Relationships are like that.
I'm glad to see the friendship between them grow and change. Gabby no longer looks at Xena as a "knight in shining armour" and Xena no longer sees Gabby as an innocent child.
They both have been through hell and back. Will it make them stronger friends? I think so. They need no must accept that they are humans and make mistakes.
Each has lied to the other to, as they thought at the time, protect the other. Ok so it came back and bit them in the butt... but when hasn't a lie come back to haunt someone?
I am truly sorry to see some give up on the show that is the best on TV... However it is their decision to make. I'm not saying we should say fine leave then... we should ask why?
Which is what I'm trying to do. I'll admit I didn't start watching Xena till second season, so maybe there is something I missed... BUT the 1st season eps I've seen make me wonder why Xena kept Gabby around at all.
Now they are going through a crisis, betrayal and grief are a violitale combination. They either destroy or strengthen a relationship. I see this as strengthning the friendship between the two.
