The Amazing Xena

Several months ago I wrote this forum complaining of the "quality
decline" in the writing of this show. Well, I take it back! After watching
the last 3 consecutive programs I am amazed at the overall greatness
this program is generating. We go from WPT to MI to BS, each show
having its defenders and detractors. Look at the buzzing on the forum
after each episode. Look at the excitement and interest each episode
has generated. Why? Because, ladies and gentleman, we never know
how an episode is going to turn out! There is no formula, which makes
some of us edgy with uncertainty. But that is the real appeal of this
show. Good people die, bad people often go unpunished, the heroines
often make mistakes. Endings are not always happy. One of the reasons
we ask people to use <SPOILERS> is because of the unpredictable
endings, we can't be sure where the show is going to take us next. If you
like predictable endings where the good guys always win, watch
Diagnoses Murder or old Perry Mason reruns. BORING. There is
nothing boring about this program. Some shows appeal more to the
younger people, some to the older people, some to the kick-ass
mentality, some to the soap opera mentality, but they keep us coming
back for more. They are quite daring in what they do, and sometimes
they fail, just like their heroines. But sometimes...ahh..yess..they border
on greatness and leave us with wonderful moments etched in our
memory forever.
