In the past, i've read a few comments about what an improvement Xena is over Charlie's Angels. And there is no doubt that Xena is an improvement, but there are a few similarities that exist. such as....
o The use of bad accents by the characters whenever they go
undercover.
o The mode of transportation of the characters seems to be based on
the level of stardom of the actress.
Xena gets a Horse, while Gabby has to walk everywhere.
Jill(Farrah) drove a sporty Cobra, Kelly(Jacklyn) a
Mustang and poor Sabrina(Kate) got stuck with the dreaded
Pinto.
o The use of cleavage as a weapon.
The bad guy was always toast, if approached by an angel in a
lowcut dress.
Xena conveniently (or uncomfortably) hides her breast dagger
there.
o Amazingly high occurrence of look alikes of major characters.
(mainly Xena and Kelly)
o Uncanning knack of working less clothing into plot.
The angels were in bathing suits every other episode it
seems.
Of course, X&G started out with less clothing, so the writers
of Xena had to forego the bathing suits and head straight
to nudity.
Similar Plot Lines:
o Undercover at a Beauty Pageant
o Undercover with con artists to exact justice on the bad guys.
o Undercover with a thief to steal an object back.
hummmm... a pattern's forming here. maybe they need to stay away from undercover plot lines. With any luck, the writers of Xena won't figure out a way to work in X&G going undercover as cheerleaders. Ya know, now that i think about it, the angels went undercover as cheerleaders to break up a devil worshipping cult. Uh Oh, we're already half way there.

By and large, with a few exceptions, i gravitate towards escapism shows that aren't reality based, especially if they are done with a sense of humor. I can't stand those Movies of the Week based on True Stories. I get enough reality in real life. i don't need to watch it on TV.

Bingo LE ~
That's the reason I watch 'em. Growing up you didn't get alot of strong
women role models on tv. Nope all the chicks there had to be rescued
and were always doing something stupid. Thank the writers that they
had someone with brains to take care of them so they could get back
home and cook and clean. WHEW! It was always a concern of mine fer
shure! *LOL*
And I agree with you ParNone ~
I too do not like those reality based shows. I get sick of watching the
news! Plus I think that that stuff just gives some people more ideas
of crap they can do. Why publicize and glamourize that stuff? I don't
like that. Don't give some of those people their 10 minutes of fame.
Give it to someone who does something good. Maybe *that* would start
a new trend. Oh well, we can only hope!
Take care pals,

*LOL*
Well, now that Callisto has left the show to be come a race-chariot-
car driver.........um.......i guess Hope is replacing her.
And so I guess Joxer would be more the Bosley type, but Ares does
have them doing alot more work ~ I guess he's kinda like Charlie only
they get to see him and don't want to!
I just hope that Kel.....Xena doesn't start yelling "No Bemish, don't
put me in the dark closet!"......but then that might explain the *real*
reason she became a warlord ~ such a traumatic youth! <BEG>
Thanks so much for the comparison. Loved it!
Hope to chat with ya later,

Yes, i too longed to drive a cobra or even a mustang, but unfortunately i drove a pinto in high school. It's hard to appear hip and happening when you're driving a pinto. I could definitely sympathize with poor Sabrina.

But i've only been obsessed with 4 shows, Charlie's Angels, Xena, Star Trek The Next Generation and i'm probably going to regret mentioning this one, but here goes, The Donny and Marie Show. If you can find a pattern in there, let me know.

Hey ParNone
No I didn't catch the reunion show. Since XWP came on I all other TV seems to pale in comparison, so I'm not watching too much these days, and I guess I missed the advertisements.
To explain what I mean by patterns I'm saying that the same fans gravitate towards a certain type of show.
For example a lot of Xena watchers watch X-Files and Buffy the Vampire Slayer now, and a lot of us have watched Chip's, Dukes of Hazzard, and Charlie's Angel's. And the sponors and TPTB know who tend to gravitate toward what shows, and what our intersts are, that's all I was saying.
And, I'm from Southern California origionally, and to combat that Texas comment, I would say that most of those actress live in LA, (or in Lucy's case her husband lives there). What do you think of that
