TO THE MUSE: I've been thinking...

It's about the Xena paternity thing. I don't know if this is relevant but it was just something that crossed my mind.

Regarding The Furies episode: Xena's whole attitude about her father seemed blase'. If your mother told you your father literally wanted to kill you when you were 7 years old wouldn't you want to know why?

Cyrene thought that Atrius had been told by either Ares or one of his priests to sacrifice Xena - but we know that doesn't make sense - Ares isn't into sacrificing children.

And what about what Cyrene told Xena about the night of her conception. Atrius was away at war and suddenly comes home to sleep with his wife. Come on, Xena has lead armies, is this what your soldiers normally do - just up and leave the battlefield to have sex with their wives?

I just find it hard to believe that the encounter with the Furies didn't leave a lot of questions in her mind. She can't be afraid of the answers - Xena always faces things head on.

It seems to me that the one with the answers is Ares. He knew about Cyrene killing Atrius so he probably knows what would make Atrius want to kill his only "daughter". So why doesn't she just ask him? She seems to be the one person who can get the truth out of him.

This may all be my ramblings in my state of fatigue. I work 2nd shift and I am making this post at 2:15 am EDT. Tell me what you think?
