My thoughts...

When I saw this episode last year, I enjoyed it a lot. The reason? I liked Minya and Hower. Hower's crush on Xena was cute in its own way. In fact, I'm mad that the Xena book didn't mention this very important part of the episode! I also liked Minya a lot. She was hilarious, especially when she kept pouring hot water in Xena and Gabrielle's tub even when they asked her to stop two or three times. I also loved the fish throwing scene, but it's better on the bloopers show. Not only that, Minya is the only guest star from another season that I recognized this year. I didn't even know Autolycus until "King of Assassins". Shows how much I know, huh?

Now about subtext....When I watched this episode, I didn't see subtext. Back then, and to this day, I still see Xena and Gabrielle as just best friends. I didn't know people saw them as possible lesbians until Xena's TV Guide interview, and even then I was like, "WHAT?" Until I came here, I didn't even know where to find subtext. Believe me, I have nothing against homosexuals, I just don't see the show in the same way.

I don't know which episode I like better, "A Day in the Life" or "Quill is Mightier". Minya's definitely a great character, and I can't wait to see the two sequels next year (especially the parody on Hercules!!!).

Yeah CN, I wouldn't mind watching THAT particular shampoo commercial in slo-mo again and again and again!
