Okay, everyone. I've got out my patented soap box and am now prepared to stand on it.
First, I would like to remind you all that this forum is here for us FREE. If we paid for it, we could expect some kind of preferential treatment from TPTB, but we don't. I myself consider this forum enough of a gift that I'm not going to slander Universal anymore. It doesn't have to be here. They don't have to do this for us. But they do, and I'm grateful.
Second, I would like to say to all of you out there who think that TPTB don't care about us, I assure you they do. The proof is in the fact that the forum is still here, even though Universal has received thousands of letters in complaint and it really is a hassle to keep up. They want to know what we think about their shows. And they don't want to shut us down, otherwise the forum would not keep coming up. Instead they would immediately end it, and say to hell with all of us.
Last, I would like to give you all a word of advice. If you were a techie sitting in a computer room desperately trying to get the forum back up for a lot of people who keep sending you angry notices when you are trying your best to do your job and get their favorite place running for them, how would you feel? Would you say, "Gee. That's kind of them. I just love getting told that I'm a b***ch when I'm providing free maintenance and care for their forum," or would you rather say, "Kill them all!?" I think I for one would choose the latter. So my advice is this: send them a thankyou note instead of all that hate mail. It works wonders. I sent them one, and guess what? They responded to me in a very short, but friendly way.
A little kindness and understanding goes a long way.....
Happy posting,
