Romantic Friendship

In the early part of 1998 I found an article about Romantic Friendships on the Whoosh! site. The article* was written by Sherrie Johnson (Trueblue) and she did a wonderful job with it. I have always thought that Xena and Gabrielle were more than friends, but not lovers. I usually felt inadequate when trying to describe their relationship until I read the above mentioned article. After reading it I finally felt like I had a phrase to describe the type of relationship that I believe Xena and Gabrielle have. Some people don't believe that this type of relationship can exist, but I assure you it can, for I have had romantic friendships.

I was quite excited by Sherrie's article. With the help of my friend, hobbes, we started a new fanfiction category in the Xenaverse. There have been other bards write stories that fit into the Romantic Friendship category, but I believe that hobbes and I were the first to label our work as Romantic Friendship.

Though this is the type of relationship that I believe our dynamic duo have, everyone is free to decide for themselves.
