Demon's an Angel

Just a touch of passion brings him to his knees.
He never even rests to feel the gentle breeze.
There's tension as he picks up the phone.
It rings, once he says "no one's home".
He hangs it up quick he has to leave.
He drives away as if it's a dream.

Run, running away, never living for today.

He sits across speaking words to me
and I hang to each one endlessly.
His smile so sweet, his heart untouched
to kiss his cheek might be too much.
In a flash he's back in his car.
Doesn't he know he won't get far.

Run, running away, never living for today.

His sleepless nights have caught up with him.
The breeze becomes a storm.
Fire rages in the eyes
of what was a gentle morn'.
He only sees what he wants to see,
but nothing seems what it used to be.
A transformation soon takes place
for he can't look the demon in the face.

Run, running away, never living for today.

He turns his head to hide his eyes
thinking to prolong his demise
but it would come to his surprise
that his demon's an angel in disguise.
