"I enjoy offering performing groups the opportunity to experience a World Premiere  performance of an original  work,   never previously performed by  anyone.  In some cases, a work  may have  already been performed  as  a  "World Premier", but your ensemble may want to perform the piece as  a "West  Coast"  or "East Coast Premier", or simply perform the music for the joy of it!"

Please  note: Mr. Smith is not able to provide custom arrangements of music copyrighted  by others!

What's  the  catch?

1.  To request a work that is listed on the 'sample' page, please email me and tell me a little about your organization.
Please include the following information:
a.  Your name and title or association with the group
b. Your organization's name and mailing address
c. The instrumentation and number of each instrument utilized
d. The ability level of your ensemble
e. If possible, attach to the email a photo of the group.
2. To request a new work (basically a 'pro bono' commission tailored for  your ensemble, please email me with the same information as above, and I will contact  you  to discuss the style desired.  I will either send you a work which I have composed previously that is unpublished, or will  work on a new piece for your occasion.   Please note, that once a work is published, I no longer control  first   performance rights.

3. After you receive the music, you may photocopy as many parts as needed for your group only .

4.   All I ask of you in return is a Videotape, CD, or Cassette recording of your performance and two copies of your printed program.  I also ask permission to use the video or audio of your ensemble in future promotion of the  music.

5. After the premiere, you may keep the music in your library.

6. You may charge admission for your concert.  I will not ask for any financial  remuneration!
