Cry for Dawn was started in 1989 by Joseph Michael Lisner. He published the book through his own company, Cry for Dawn Productions. Along with Joe Monks he created the character Dawn, a goddess with the ability to travel between the real and spiritual world.

Cry for Dawn fans beware....there is a counterfeit copy of CFD #1 circulating at recent conventions. The only way to tell if a copy is fake is to examine the sky in the picture at the top of the cover. The fake one has a "bumpy" sky whereas the real one is smooth.
