Okay, These are some bands that I like and that's why I linked them and stuff. Some of these bands are virtually un-heard of, and others are well known. I think that all of them are wonderful in their own way and with this page you will see their links and I think you should visit these pages! Who knows, you might surprise yourself!
*Note: I don't have the official page names here so you are just basically getting some of my bookmarked and most travelled to pages--I don't need their names--they're good enough!! Some pages are official but most are done by the fans--i find fan pages are usually better=o)
Anti-Flag--A pretty decent punk band from Pittsburgh.
Ash--A band that should be more well-known.
Frank Black--AKA-Black Francis from the Pixies--has some really nice solo work.
Butter08--Sometimes I get the feeling I am the only one who owns this CD and has heard of them. They're pretty eclectic.
The Buzzpoets--Good music from Pittsburgh!
Catherine--If you buy any of their CDs you won't be sorry. They're usually associated with the Smashing Pumpkins. Why? Well D'arcy is married to one of them and sings on the most recent album, James Iha plays on the most recent album, and Billy Corgan produced their first EP and helps them produce.
Cibo Matto--They sing about food, but that just goes to show how different they are from everyone else.
The Clash--Do I need to even say anything?
the Deftones--I like them a lot--but then again I like Korn a lot and they remind me of them. . .but they're great to see live and they're just a really good band.
Dharmasons--Okay so Matty's brother is in the band, but they're pretty interesting! Really have a different sound to them.
the Fastbacks--One of Seattle's finest bands. They should've made it big too.
Flaming Lips--Ok, I'll admit I have to be in the mood for Flaming Lips or I can't appreciate them at all.
G-Love and Special Sauce--Unique.
Garbage--I never really hated a song they've done yet!
Joy Division--It's Joy Division!--Do I really need to say anything else?
Love and Rockets--I never got to see them live yet. I had tickets to the ENIT festival several years ago but it was too expensive for them to carry on with it so they cancelled almost all the festival dates--and unfortunately Pittsburgh was one of them.
Nirvana--It's Nirvana--speaks for itself.
the Pixies--One of the best bands ever.
Placebo--Again I think I am the only person that I know that owns this CD and the funniest thing was I couldn't find the CD in your basic chain CD store--I had to buy it where I usually buy bootlegs and imports!! They were worth the wait though.
R.E.M--I never realized how much I loved this band until about 2 years ago! Maybe as I get older I appreciate more music.
Radiohead--My friend Jen is the biggest Radiohead fan and she got me into them more than I was. Even if you don't like them you have to visit their page--one of the best *official* ones I have ever seen!
Rusted Root--I truly love this band--it sets my inner "hippie" free!
Seaweed--yet another Seattle band that should've "made-it" during the "grunge period" of alternative music.
Sebadoh--See above.
the Smashing Pumpkins--I liked them during their Gish days--now, I don't know, it's just not the same--although they are still wonderful--just not the same as when Gish was released.
The Smiths--I love the Smiths soooo much! I actually liked Moz when he was in the Smiths more than his solo career. It's a pretty decent website.
the Talking Heads--One of the first songs I actually remembered singing vividly from childhood is "Burning Down The House"--also I remembered the video scared me but I liked the music so much I would still watch it. Could say I am a long time fan!
Tripping Daisy--They're right up there with the whole Flaming Lips mood thing. I like them and almost went to Def Leppard to see them open up--but then I came to my senses and didn't.
Violent Femmes-I just love them!
