Wll, I dont love Michael Nesmith!! Its sad but true. Now before anyone dies of amazement, let me explain myself. I have never personally met Michael Nesmith, but i have spent the last 12, yes 12 years of my life believing I was in love with the man! How can this be? I do love his music, I love his humor on the Monkees show, and again in his solo efforts(television parts, elephant parts)>However, I dont know anything about his private life, I never will. Therefore, how can I be in love with him?
I cant, thats how. But.... I do swoon when he sings still, so I have not totally given up on the man, hehehe. I might even meet him someday, briefly, without him even noticing me(sighhhh). thats all i have to say this week. Its all very sad, but oh well, I have someone else to love(he knows who he is)

Todays topic is..... Mike WAS a Monkee......
Mike may have got famous quick from the Monkees, and some of us might even think he owes a lot to the Monkees. Mike is now a solo artist, and author, and entreprenuer(SP?). He has other things to think about besides the Monkees. He addressed this issue in a recent chat at Barnes and Noble.(a very interesting chat)He likened his memory of The Monkees to a high school prom date, and as fans, we should respect his wishes to be Michael Nesmith, solo artist, author, etc...He may do Monkees related projects now and then, but the fact is, he has another life, the Monkees are in his past and as he looks to the future without the Monkees, so should we.His solo stuff is great by the way, if you have never listened to any of it. His first novel is getting good reviews too, and i cant wait to read it!
Its all good to be a fan of his Monkees days, but when people get upset because of him wanting to put the Monkees in the past, well they(we) should remember its his life.
I am guilty of this in a way, because if you have been to my links page, you will see more links to Monkees sites than Nez solo sites, i hope to set aside a monkees page of links, and a solo nez page of links, in the near future
now its off the soapbox for me, have a good week! january 9th, 1999(how weird)

Todays topic is..... What the hell became of The M in MTV?
I was watching MTV the other day, when I realized that i had been watching for over 2 hours without seeing a single music video. Now you may ask, why was i watching then? Well i really wasnt, i was doing dishes, and other mundane junk like that, but MTV was on, and not one video. When i first started watching MTV, back when it first started, You could always find videos on.
It was a video channel, thats what they played. Now it should be Gameshow tv, or lovelines tv, but not MTV. I tried VH1, same thing happened, no videos, but at least their shows had to do with music, and the people that make music.
OK, I do have a point here i think.....The point being, I liked MTV when it was about music. If you have to ask about the correlation to this ramble and Nez, come back again, when i have my handy dandy bio up :-) (shameless self promotion)
