I am currently a member of the BMW Clubs Australia, New South Wales division and will be posting up anything I feel relevant or has been of any use to me that has come out of my involvement with the club!

July 13, 1998:
The Supersprint day at Amaroo Park has come and gone and has left me with some brand new experiences, most of which were good, but one which wasn't so good. We'll start with the good experiences :)
The weather on the day was absolutely perfect and everybody rocked up with their cars for a day of fun and fast driving. There was a whole range of cars which were willing to take part in the event, from 2002's to an M3R to an Audi quattro and VW VR6. After standing around for the first few hours waiting for all the cars to be scrutineered, we were ready for a few laps of practise. Fortunately I ran into Paul who has had many years of experience in racing and was willing to come arounf the circuit with me for the pracise laps in order to show me exactly where to brake and so on.
With the end of the morning upon us, it was time to get some timed runs in (everybody being in their appropriate group). I started with a lap time of 1 minute 22.7 seconds and was able to take it down with each consecutive lap, bringing it down to my final time of 1 minute 10.03 seconds, which I was extremely happy with, especially this being my first time out on a track :). But this quickest time of mine came at a price, as I was never going quick enough for my liking and eventually spun off and into a tire barrier at 110km/h, which has caused at least a grand's worth of damaged to the back of my car :( and on the final lap of the day.

June, 1998:
There is a Motorsport Day coming up on the 27th June and I hope to take part - this means that I must acquire a fire extinguisher and helmut before this day. The day will be held at the historic Amaroo
Park circuit and will be one of the last times people will drive there as it has been sold and closes August.
* I have managed to acquire the appropriate equipment (fire extinguisher installed and all) and am now eagerly awaiting the day.
A review written by another member of the club, David Walsh, gives quite some insite of what is involved in a Supersprint day at the track.
