Women in the Book Arts .. a selection
The artists represented here range in age from their
twenties to their sixties. Each book varies in design, format
and content. Most of them include some form of letterpress
printing -- that is, printing by hand with moveable type. In
many instances, the book's binding and paper are made and
decorated by hand as well.
Other Sites of Book Arts Interest

Sheila's Bookbinding: How to make Books
The advantage of my bookbinding method is that it doesn't require any special skills, tools or equipment. The equipment for
traditional binding is expensive, and even the home-made versions may be unpractical for a person who only wants to do this as a
craft project. My technique also has the advantage of materials which are easy to find and use for most people.
Handcrafted Artist's Books
Original Books and Paintings by Julie Richman
WebLibris,
The bibliophile meeting place on the Internet. You may
wonder what " bibliophilism " is. It simply
means love of good and fine books. It is a
mix of intellectual pleasure of enjoying a
favourite text mingled with the more sensual
pleasure of noble materials, plain rag paper,
leather, metal… and the emotion awakened by
the illustrations of great contemporary
artists.
