You think it matters
You think it hurts
You believe my tears are
from your cruelty
You believe you have that
power.
You're wrong.
You're powerless in my world.
You can't control me.
Your harsh words don't effect
me.
With every cruel word you
do not hurt me as you wish,
With every hateful word
you demonstrate your own ignorance;
You demonstrate your own
fear and helplessness.
These hard words make you
feel powerful,
They make you feel good.
You live in a world you can't control;
A world you don't love.
You obtain security by brandishing harsh words,
You use the heads of the downtrodden as your step-ladder.
You're not climbing anywhere worth going.
You don't really matter
You can't really hurt
You're just another person living in my world.
