Purpose of This Site

See also Important Notes & Disclaimer

Welcome! This site is an NSU OT Students' Survival Guide. I've listed the books, videos, and links that will make it easier to complete your OT class assignments at NSU. How do I know these materials are helpful? I graduated from NSU's MOT program, worked in our HPD library, & have a second Masters in Library & Information Science--I've learned, sometimes in hindsight, which materials there are useful.

This site will also be of interest to occupational therapists and other medical professionals working with clients of different cultures and religions. I've assembled a thorough list of medical cultural links and am working on getting OT phrases translated into various languages.

Other health-care professionals may find this site of interest. For example, Dynamic Medicine, which is linked under Medical Websites, lists more medically-oriented information such as recommended lab tests and ICD-9 codes for each medical diagnosis. (The links appear trustworthy; please read Important Notes & Disclaimer for more information on how I choose websites.) Again, the cultural medicine and cultural mental health links, some of which include patient-education handouts in native script, are helpful to anyone working with such clients. Also, I have a section that answers the four most common questions asked about OT.

I've been honored to have been linked from prestigious universities & libraries, two government entities, and more. Click on this link to read more.

About me: my librarian curriculum vitae is linked from my online resume, and my OT resume is here.
