Hey, I'm 20, I'm young, I'm merry and I have my outside interests! These are just a few of my favourite links - links to interesting stuff, pages I visit that don't feature the "arts" - or rather, not what my lecturers would probably call Art.
This is a REALLY cool chat forum! When I'm not at University I often drop in for a hour or two of fast-moving. wise-cracking, ball-breaking trivia. It's amazingly good fun but not for the nervous or the slow typist! Come along and watch awhile, laugh yourself sick, and meet jolly Jord, sultry Stace, raunchy Kimmie, smart Sue, dippy Didi, lissome Lisa, louche Lance, delicious Deleen - and the rest of the gang! Trust me, they're great. I used to be a quizmaster here! This is where you'll find me outside University termtimes - either as Mab or Milord_Mab. Visit us if you dare. For UK users, it's rather late - usually starting at about 12-2.00 in the morning - but well worth a few late nights.
Salute the best TV show that ever came out of the USA.This site is specifically for UK fans because we won't have seen all the episodes in the USA yet - for the Offical Buffy Site (spoilers and all) click here. Which is cool to look at - but there are literally zillions of sites out there. Just ask any search engine. Oh, and that's why I haven't put up my own Buffy page. Too much competition.
The best search engine. Feel free to disagree, but AltaVista is, as far as I'm concerned, the widest, quickest, and most user-friendly search engine on the Net. I haven't been very impressed by the speed/service/range of the others.
I'm a great fan of this talented actress, whose story was surely among one of the most individual and memorable of all Hollywood stars past and present. The still is from my favourite VL film, "That Hamilton Woman!" and links to The Vivien Leigh Pages - as good a starting point as any to find out about this incandescent and ultimately tragic woman. I haven't even mentioned The Wind Movie or Larry...
One of the best modern actresses around today. "Heavenly Creatures" is only one of two films made in the last 20 years to consistently make it into my top 10 movies of all time. (the other is Withnail and I). Let's admit it, I'm a Winslet fan. But I'm not so obsessed that I'd trawl through a zillion websites which sprang up overnight devoted to her, following a Certain Boat Movie. The link is to the offical Winslet webpage, as good a starting point as any. Again, AltaVista will show you to many of the others.
The finest English film available to humanity!! I LOVE this film, and always rate it among my top 10 films of all time (along with "The Miracle Worker", "The Birds" and "Heavenly Creatures". And yet I loathed Trainspotting, and in theory ought to be revolted and disgusted at the drug-laden squalour of this blackest of black comedies.... so why does it succeed so well in drawing me into its loathsome existence? The link should provide a good starting point. Look at the images, enjoy the content, and visit the webmaster's links page anyway....
