Candle in the Wind by Elton John September 6, 1997
Goodbye England's rose; may you ever grow in our hearts. You were the grace that placed itself where lives were torn apart.
You called out to our country, and you whispered to those in pain. Now you belong to heaven, and the stars spell out your name.
And it seems to me you lived your life like a candle in the wind; never fading with the sunset when the rain set in.
And your footsteps will always fall here, along England's greenest hills; your candle's burned out long before your legend ever will.
Loveliness we've lost; these empty days without your smile. This torch we'll always carry for our nation's golden child.
And even though we try, the truth brings us to tears; all our words cannot express the joy you brought us through the years.
And it seems to me you lived your life like a candle in the wind; never fading with the sunset when the rain set in.
And your footsteps will always fall here, along England's greenest hills; your candle's burned out long before your legend ever will.
Goodbye England's rose; may you ever grow in our hearts. You were the grace that placed itself where lives were torn apart.
Goodbye England's rose, from a country lost without your soul, who'll miss the wings of your compassion more than you'll ever know.
And it seems to me you lived your life like a candle in the wind; never fading with the sunset when the rain set in.
And your footsteps will always fall here, along England's greenest hills; your candle's burned out long before your legend ever will. |

I Didn't Know Her
I didn't know her yet I cared about her as though we had known each other for years. I admired her strength, her caring heart, her desire to make a this world a better place.
I didn't know her yet I will miss her. She left this world all too soon, and now two young men must grow without their mother who loved them dearly, unconditionally.
This tragedy is something that, although sad, should remind us of what we have; teach us to cherish our own lives and our loved ones for we know not how long we will have each other.
They say life is short; this is true. Grasp onto every day, make it worth something to yourself or to someone else. Give your life and someone elses meaning so that when the light dims, it will have been worth every effort.
This Lady touched our lives in one way or another. She spread happiness and hope. And, although she will be missed, her legacy will carry on and she will not be forgotten.
I didn't know her, but I wish I had.

Shadows
The shadows grow as bells beat out A crying mournful dirge: A precious light has been snuffed out By creeping, stalking scourge. A shining star, a ray of hope On this forsaken Earth She showed us how to love and care Changed sorrow into mirth. Bringing back the days of yore When might was used for Right Walking through the Shadow Realms Never shirking from the fight. Bringing aid and true succour To those that were in need Not afraid to stand alone Her heart did Princess heed. But now she's gone, her life snuffed out By senseless, grasping greed And around our Princess' body Like piranhas they do feed. Do not let her death be vain, Hear now what I say: Carry on the works she did And bring back light this day. For the shadows grow and deepen On this day of dark despair Nevermore in life shall see That radiant face so fair. The world is dimmed as light recedes Like Camelot of old Our shinging star has passed Beyond Leaving Shadows long and cold. The Shadows stretch across the land To the tolling of a bell With heavy heart and tear-streaked face I bid Princess farewell.
