Contemporary Artists Honors Show Winners
Many winners took home ribbons following the Saratoga Contemporary Artists' annual Art in the Garden juried art show and art sale on Sept. 12 in the gardens of a Saratoga home. Judge Gerald Boyd, an accomplished multimedia artist, selected the winners, many of whom reside in the Saratoga/Los Gatos area.
The Best of Show award went to Jeanette Turkus. In oil paintings, the winners were Jacob Moradzadeh, first place; M. Kapadia, second place; Jeanette Turkus, third place; Jacob Moradzadeh and Benito Belinski, honorable mentions.
Watercolor winners were Harley Newsom, first place; Karmen Askew, second place; Marge Early, third place; Betty McQuire, Jean Snow and Ruth Condit, honorable mentions.
The mixed-media winners were Phyllis Feemster, first and third place; Karmen Askew, second place; Helen Scheel, honorable mention.
In the pastel category, the winners were Helen Scheel, first place; Ruth Condit, second place; and Jeanette Turkus, third place. Taking first and second place in the sculpture category was Mahoko Dahte, while Helen Riley took first and second place in photography.
